I have doubt on virudhi. My younger brother got married and settled in UK boy baby born to him on 23 march so myself (unmarried) and mom in Chennai followed virudhi for 10 days as per our family vathiyar advice exactly on 10th day which is 1st april my periyappa son gave baby birth. Should I follow another 10 days virudhi or till they do punyavachanam as for periyappa daughterinlaw is in still hospital not sure when they do punyavachanam. Please advice on this as my family vathiyar is in travel and couldn't able to reach them.

you have to observe vridhi only for ten days . you should not wait till they do punyahavachanam

It is preferred to get holy water from Sastrigal with: Punyahavachanam for Vrudhi (impurity/post-birth) is performed to purify the home, individuals, and surroundings, typically on the 11th day. The primary suktam recited during this ritual is the Pavamana Suktam (also known as the Pavamani Sukta). And sprinkle it at home for all the good. And Bilva and Tulasi it for auspicious energy at home.
I remember when in UAE my friend was working and is a Sastrigal. Many come to him and get the energized suktam recited water to sprinkle in their house as they could not perform like in India. Fortunately if on a holiday he goes to perform it with poona Kumbam.
