Violence against Women in India

of late i have been watching a lot of sun t.v.

one common factor that binds all the dramas, and movies, is the violence towards women.

our young guys, don't seem to think twice before raising their hands at their wives or sisters or girl friends.

they say that life imitates art. if this be so, i cannot but imagine the amount of female abuse that is happening in india.

interestingly, violence against women is one of the principal causes of divorce in india, per this expressbuzz artilce below.

i see that the pudhumaipeNNs do not appear to conform to the old rules anymore. which is indeed to be welcomed.

again, there are two comments about the article. both whining and wailing about lost values.

nobody ever asked the women of the past as to how much they had to sacrifice, in order to start a new life at the husband's place, more often putting up with abuse from the in laws.

the times, they are changing. definitely for the better. :)
