According the the brahmin sampradaya, vegetarianism has been followed for thousands of years(roughly translates to satvika ahara-simple and calming food). However, does this criteria extend to all the dwija sampradayas as well. Please present your views and if possible please cite, i really look forward to cites from any scripture.
