Varadharaja Perumal - Samalapuram, Coimbatore

Not many know of this temple situated in Samalapuram, near Somanur, between Trichy road and the Avinashi road.

Though not very big, it has a calm and serene ambience... The presiding deity is Varadharaja Perumal and a brahmin family have been offering puja to the Lord for years now.

There is also an inscription (stone-carved), which speaks of moslem travellers along the road, some thousand years ago!

I shall post any more details, if I could get it... and maybe a few pictures.

namaskarams, thank you for your information...presently my chithappas
are settle down in avinashi....you must be knowing that the kula deivam
for singanallur brahmins ....sri srinivasaperumal of Mondipalayam
near annur onthe way to satyamangalam/puliyampatti...i heard
that this perumal temple is kuladeivam for keetunamakara
families of singanallur...in fact its my kuladeivam temples too...
now maintained by mainly lakshmigroup/psg group families..

namaskarams, mondipalayam perumal is a svayambhu... but it is not the kula dheivam for all of singanallureans! for ex., ours is thirupathi venkatachalapathi...

namaskarams, i know my forefathers used to go to mondipalayam
perumal due to long distance to thirupathi...so go to nearby
swayambu mondipalayam perumal temple... i go to thirupathi
sri venkateswara temple every year becoz i myself considered
kuladeivam for myself/my in laws families.. in fact i did my masters
degree from s v university thirupathi....
