In Today's New Indian Express page-2,there is an article about recently discovered inscriptions revealing that Velachery was a vedic brahmin settlement even a thousand years before. In the light of such findings,it is upto us to take efforts to rewrite Indian/TN history and get rid of all falsification of history.Vedic brahmins were part of the cultural ethos of India especially Tamilnadu.Only objective historical scholars without bias and not Marxian or secular historians can do that.

This would tear to shreds all vilification campaign about Brahmins in TN that DK and other Kazhagams are specialising in.

CHENNAI: Just discovered inscriptions reveal that Velachery was a flourishing little town even a millennium ago and that it was a Brahmin settlement who specialized in Vedic education.

The 1,000-year-old inscriptions that offer a glimpse of the distant past were stumbled upon by temple officials while undertaking renovation work at Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple in Velachery here a few days ago....

Cholas were ruling around 1000ad..and they used to build brahmadeyams or settlement areas for brahmins.

There are so many inscriptions (kalvetukal) available in the entire state of Tamil Nadu to prove that Tamil Brahmins were the original occupiers of Tamil Nadu. The findings at Vellore fort also indicates this. One thing is tht Tamil is a language and who ever taken it as their mother toungue is tamilian. It is said that there were only two dialect , one is pali and the other Sanskirt. From Pali emerged all the languages in south india, mainly Tamil. Similarly from sanskrit emerged telugu, malayalam etc.
That is why you find lot of sanskrit words in Telugu and Malayalam.

Evidences could be adduced to prove that the so called Dravidian were never the part of the original South indians. They were those peersons who migrated along with kings from various parts.

It is the political vendentta by the DK and DMK to bring in to forefrom the Dravidian issue because in those days the ruling party was congress and many persons such as Rajagopalachari,TTKrishnamachari, Venkatraman, etc belonged to the so called Brahmin comunity and the DK and DMK wanted to use certain formula and they got the too readily on the Brahmin issue.

Can I ask one qaestion who was maniammai, is she not a brahmin the why EVR maried her. Baba sabheb Ambedkar was brought up by a Brahmin ad therefore he took that family name as Ambdkar.

Tamil Nadu"s Presaent ruling party as born on hatred.IOf the liked the lanugate and Tamil persons, then the present Government would not have shd crocodile tears on tamilians fate in Sri Lanka.

Sri Prabhakaran,

Yes it is true that people in brahmanical functions and roles were spread across all over india; and tamilnadu was no exception. 'Brahmin' class has always existed all thru the present country boundries, and beyond too.

It is also true that there has been intermingling since ages. Even in peaceful times right from the times of Manu (which he even mentioned in Manusmrithi), to the maratha times in tamilnadu, so-called kings are known to have taken wives or concubines from all castes. Movement and picking up of new jobs and trades appears to have touched its peak during the periods of islamic invasions.

However one section of brahmins have imbued or colored things with spurious claims, the biggest chunk of which came about during the colonial times; created by the british for their divide and rule policy. This continues to be exploited to this day by politicians.

Even now, it is suprising to see that some dalits hold brahmins responsible for their social position. Without serious introspection and dispassionate ability to dig into the past, claims by both brahmins and dalits will possibly continue to exist. And politicians will continue to thrive on it. It is just fate i think...

Dear Sri prabhakaran123 Ji,

I appreciate and understand the message contained in your post. However, there are a couple of factual errors in your argument.

Pali was a part of the Indo European languages. Tamil was developed indigenously in South India and has one of the ancient literature known to man, dating back to atleast 300 BCE. It is widely acknowledged that Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam all have mainly Tamil roots, with varying degrees of Sanskrit influence.

Dravidians also are widely acknowledged as the original inhabitants of the Southern India, eons ago. So, I don't know where from you are making these assertions - what are your sources of reference? Thanks.

Regards,
KRS
