Upanayanam during one year after mother's death

My friend has fixed his son's Upanayanam. Before that date, my friend's mother expired. The Upanayanam date falls after the 13th day ceremony (shubasweekaaram). His well wishers have two schools of thoughts. One set of people say he can conduct his son's Upanayanam once 13th day ceremony is over; others say he cannot conduct that Upanayanam function, till his mother's varshaaptiikam is over.

ராம் ராம், பத்தாம் நாளிலிருந்து அடுத்த பத்தாம் நாளை மறுபத்து என்பார்கள். உபநயன முகூர்த்தம் அதற்கு பின் வந்தால், உபநயனம் செய்யலாம். சென்ற ஆத்மாவிற்க்கும் இது நல்லதே!
