Poor fellows! It is nothing but the pathetic efforts of a community to stop the inexorable march of time. The intention may be good. But the dynamics are not in favour of the community leaders.

Sir in major rape cases its the mobile phone that helps in tracing the accused. I know UP very well. two months back I went to UP, as soon as I crossed Delhi border to Gautam Buddha Nagar, I sensed Difference. It was totally different.
These villagers are uneducated and instead of taking them forward with the changing times are taking them backward.
These panchayats also impose diktat in case of couples marrying outside gotras esp in love marriages to leave the village within 24 hours. Sometimes they also give orders to kill the couple and offer reward on their head.
They are Indian Version of Taliban. They treat women as servants and they know that outside world treats women folk with dignity and self respect and fear that they might switch.

Typical isn't? It is always the girls who must bear the brunt of it. To be equitable, the ban must extend to all the prospective male counterparts, which will be all males between 18 and 80, married or unmarried, for the marital status of the man may not make any difference for enticing a girl.

Biologically, women have evolved to be attracted by caring love than carnal love -- caring love from her man gives them a survival and reproductive advantage. These morons may try that to keep their girls from running away!!
