Coimbatore recently hosted India’s first-ever ‘Heritage Rice Fest’, an event featuring dishes that represent Tamil Nadu’s food customs and traditions.


“Guests were surprised to eat preparations like kuzhalappam, orappam, kokkusu, pathiri and bulsai appam.


They had never tasted or heard of them before today. This time we wanted to do something special to promote our State. We actually brought in women from villages to oversee and prepare the food.
