Many janya rAgams may differ in colour from their mELa rAgams but the janya rAgams of Natabairavi are almost same in colour.
Probably with this particular set of swarams, it is not possible to vary the gamakams much! And hence, many film songs are
based with swarms of this rAgam.

Very nice song by the late Ghantasala garu in raag darbari kaanada. Never saw the film though. I have listened to both Seergazhi's version and Ghantasala and IMHO Ghantasaala's rendition is that bit more moving!
