Here's the list of the concerts at the Navarathri Mandapam, Trivandrum, Kerala, for the year 2012.
The ambience there is something to be experienced to be believed. Perfectly balanced acoustics, lighting by oil lamps, the divine grace of the Goddess in whose honour the concerts are conducted, utterly disciplined and informed audience, the feeling of having travelled back in time by around two centuries.....the list is endless. As I said before.....it is something that has to be experienced to be believed.
There are some restrictions though.
1) Only Hindus are allowed inside since it is a temple.
2) Men have to wear a mundu/veshti/dhothi and take off their shirts.
3) Everybody has to be seated by 6:00 pm at the latest.
4) Nobody can leave before the concerts finish.
5) The concerts start at 6:00 pm Sharp and finish at 9:00 pm Sharp this year, except on the last two days.
(Please check out the timing for each day)
6) Since the concerts are done as offerings to the Devi and not as "Performances" there is no appalause.
7) Mobile phones are STRICTLY Forbidden inside.
8) The main krithi for each day is fixed.

A speaker will be kept outside the steps of the Shree Padmanabhaswami Temple (Which is adjacent to the Navarathri Mandapam) for the benefit of those who wouldn't be prepared to follow all the restrictions listed above, but would still like to enjoy the concerts.
A chunk of each concert would normally be broadcast by the All India Radio, Trivandrum on all days from 9:30 pm till 11:00 pm.

Dr Renuka Mam

Thank you very much for giving the entire program for the information of everyone.
Navarathri is entirely devoted to Goddesses, signifying the Mother Goddess embodies
all the Powers of this Universe. This is celebrated all over in India. While it is called
Dussehra in Mysore, it is named as Durga Puja Festival in West Bengal. Girl children
will enjoy this festival and the Dolls will be enjoyed by all the Kids, visiting neighbours
and friends and relatives houses. Thank you once again for posting the program.

Durga in Sanskrit - She who is not comprehensible to ordinary people. In
Bengal, She is decorated in different forms viz. Parvathi, Ambika, Kali, etc.
She is known in the form of Goddess Parvathi, i.e. the Divine Husband of
Lord Shiva, having two sons and a daughter viz. Lord Ganesha and Lord
Subramanhyam (Karthikeya) besides daughter Jyothi - destroyer of Demons.
Further She is described in different forms in Hindu Puranas and Agamas.
She is supposed to inhabit in the hearts and minds of those devotees of
religious ecstasy. It is also seen in the Puranas that Goddess Kali is the
liberator of Souls. Even today in Kalighat at Kolkatta, Sheep is given as
bali in the temple premises. While Goddess Lakshmi is honoured as
"Ishwariyam Sarva Bhoothanam", i.e. the Supreme Goddess.

You are absolutely correct. But these days, children sing well, which you can
notice in Jaya TV and Vijay TV Programmes. Of late, Girl Children are
forced to go to dance class, music class, instrument class, etc. besides their
studies and it becomes their routine. Thank you for reminding me.
