When we listen to some songs, we feel that the song is made for that particular artist!
'EppO varuvArO' for Madurai Mani Iyer and 'Kurai ondrum illai' for M S Amma are two examples.

Comedy of Confusion
When in another thread, mention of வைத்தீஸ்வரன் took me back to Kumbakonam temple and a Navagraha kriti (angaraka) of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar. The composer mentions this temple (one of the navagraha temples for Mars (angaraka)).
Also celebrating the NASA mars exploration project in 2011

வைத்தீஸ்வரன் is supposed to have healing powers. The word comes from வைத்தியம் + ஈஸ்வரன் (as far as I know)

We were fortunate to learn all the Navagraha Keerthanaas from our adorable Guru Dr. S. Ramanathan.
