Hello VR Mam, oh thanks for your compliments. yes mam your words made me of more nostalgic feel . I was been nick named as KUSHBOO in my college days ,smiling face ,no time for ice -breaking. OMG ,such a lovely days. thanks once again mam.

Dear Dr Narayani,

Yes college days were fun..remember everyone waiting for the monsoon and go walking in the rain.
I still remember sitting at Malpe Beach and Kaup Beach during the monsoon admiring the huge waves in the choppy sea and had some nut cases classmates that actually swam in those choppy waters.
Thank god they came out alive.

I remember sitting in front row of class and some guys used to keep throwing paper aeroplanes at us girls.
Once I got real fed up and threw back one big ball of paper at the guys and I was caught by the lecturer!!LOL

Poor me..I do not have luck to be bad..even if I try I will get caught.

I still remember during internship I used to wear saree to work most of the time.
Very few of us wore saree to work and one day a lecturer saw me wearing jeans when I was at a shop and he stopped his car and got down and told me "not to wear jeans..and only wear saree" cos he felt I looked very beautiful in a saree.
He started reciting some Hindi poetry to me(he was from North India) and he was praising how beautiful a saree makes a woman look like.

Thank God the lecturer never saw me in the mini skirts I wore to annual dance parties held in college grounds!!

We had lots of nice memories in college.
Seeing guys fight in the rain and mud cos one guy commented about another's girlfriend.

College was funny anyway.
 
In college we also had a TB lady doc who used to lecture us.
She was not very young at that time but she loved to dance in class for us.
Once she came to class and asked one of my classmates to dance with her Kuttu style.

The other guys started singing "Surangani" song and madam was happily dancing away kuttu style in class with one of the guys.
We all were laughing so much non stop.

She was really a sporting lecturer but we all knew that she had some personal problems with her hubby who was cheating on her..so each time she came to class she would lecture us well and also wanted to make herself happy by dancing with us boys and girls.
 
When we listen to prominent Discourse (Pravachanam) leaders, describing the basic concepts
of the importance of Aanmigam, one can notice the reference being made to the Skanda Puranam
by them. It mainly deals with the concepts of Dharma, knowledge, yoga, etc. Actually, the
name Skanda refers to Lord Subrahmanyam. It also covers various aspects about Saints and
it contains around 81000 Slokas, a biggest one amongst the Puranas. Though, it is dedicated
to Lord Shiva, it also deliberates about the importance of Lord Vishnu, Lord Vigneshwar, Goddess
Parvathi, Lord Rama, etc. Above all, one can know about the necessity of Thirtha Yatras and
object of valuable pilgrimage trips to different places in India. It has around 6 Khandams, though
some say it is around 7 or so. A reading of this Purana, will give a mental relief and pave a way
to the path of salvation in life.

That's what happens after many years of staying together. That's why Sowbagyavathy Renuka's yearly renewal assessment in very useful. Both man and madam would be on their toes. Then 'mama' will maintain '4 pack' or '6 pack' for much longer time; mami will look trim and attractive for much longer!

Sample diet for Mamis to remain trim.

Breakfast: One medium size banana fruit with a glass of soya milk(unsweetened..taste horrid without sugar but worth it)

Lunch:Vegetables,Tofu or Curds or Paneer,Beans,Dhall eat it without rice.

After 1 hour take a big glass of warm milk with oats mixed with it without sugar(Oats will be the rice replacement)

Tea time:Cut many fruits around 3 types of fruits.Green apple has low Glycemic Index..can add some mango and some orange too.
So you get to eat 3 types of fruits.


Dinner:1 chapati with dhall or rajma or channa and mixed vegetables and some nuts like cashew or walnuts.


Try this for at least 1 week every month to give the body a break from digesting heavy food.For the rest of the month you can eat your normal food you are used to.

Requires lots of discipline to try this.
But if you want to look good you have to be disciplined anyway.

This is my time tested method to keep slim and trim.

Mami will put on weight with your diet too.

B/Fast - 1 large glas of oats milk mixed with almond meal .

Lunch - about 250 gms of cooked vegetables.

snacks - one slice of raisin bread with mashed avacado spread.

Mami will look trim and chic!

diner - About 300 gms of vegetables, about a cup of yoghurt, a cup or two of kootu ( with thoor dhal and more vegetables) .

Could you please suggest some sample diet for people like me also. By profession i am an accountant and it requires me to sit constantly in front of Computer/Laptop for abt 15 hrs a day. So i do have a pouch and constantly reminded by my wifey abt morning walks.. Aged 54 i do have high Bp. Sorry i am consulting you without any fees. Would love to send or post few of my penned thoughts, though not so wonderfully like you do, as fees... Thanks in advance.. cheers.

No problems sir,

I am waiting for the day where I can treat patients without asking for fee.
So this is good start!!LOL

Ok let me know your height,weight and your activities you do for exercise and also a sample menu of your current meals.

Sitting daily for long hours increases abdominal girth.
So try to walk around in between work in your office.

I can also work out a exercise plan for you if you would want.
But just one word of caution..I am quite a tough trainer when it comes to exercise!!
But since you have High Blood Pressure I will go slow with you..

Good plan..but I added 1 chapati at night cos I need the carbs to hold me through to next morning when I wake up for my workout.
So if I do not have a chapati at night I might not be able to work out the next day.

we ought to have daily, in examples like yours.

Some people talk of Satvik food these days. However, Ayur Vedic People have
many narrations towards this. Firstly, they mention that "Aahar tat twam asi"
i.e. we are what we eat. It is generally said that a person who eats Satvik
food is supposed to have a most suitable combination of physical, mental and
emotional harmony and general well being besides peace of mind. However, I am
yet to get a clear clarification on the Satvik Food, though it is generally said
that it has to be pure, clean and wholesome.

Sattvic Food is also food that is not frozen,not left more than 4 hours after cooking.
It actually quite hard to be 100% Sattva.

There was an informative book written by a western devotee of Sathya Sai Baba on Sattvic food and the best part of it was the authors surname (I think he was from Poland)
The author's name(surname) itself was Mr Sattvic.I can't remember his first name.

Maami usually would munch on roasted almonds when we went for 90-120 minutes walk. No B/Fast. (mama used to smoke in those years ( when mami was your age) but not before the walk or during the walk though. fast paced, would cover about 7 to 8 kms circuit. Mama directly would have brunch and go to work. Mami used to study). That avtar picture was mami 46 years old. Almond oil is good. Poly unstaturated fat.
