When you look at Microsoft’s release cycle, every other product rockets in popularity, shaping the landscape. The ones in between are failures.

And while perhaps its most successful product, Windows XP, was retired after over a decade, Microsoft is following a quicker cycle to leave behind Windows 8 and start anew with Windows 10. Firstly, it is free for Windows users to upgrade, and if that isn’t incentive enough, then computer hardware makers will be compatible only with Windows 10 or some features would be hidden till you get Windows 10.

This is mainly concerning security matters. Microsoft is saying that if you are on Windows 10, you have a better chance of being secure. Plus, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 will be supported only til 2017 as far as the new hardware is concerned. What Microsoft is doing is that it is forcing everyone to show their hand. By pushing for a faster upgrade cycle, it can get more users to upgrade to Windows 10. What do you think?
