[h=1]Ten Arab Countries Pledge to Fight Against ISIS Alongside the United States[/h] Posted by: Silvio Renne September 11, 2014

Ten Arab countries agreed on Thursday, September 11, to engage with the United States in the fight against the Islamic state, also known as ISIS or ISIL: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon. This commitment could involve participation in a “coordinated military campaign,” according to a statement released, without going into details.

However, the plan announced by the President Barack Obama, to counter the Sunni jihadist group has yet to convince some of the allies of the United States.

Obama’s plan to track the jihadist fighters in Syria, not only in Iraq, has changed the dimension of the conflict. The United States has so far received the support of many countries, such as France. However, other traditional allies have indicated their opposition to the air strikes, especially in Syria.

This is particularly the case of Turkey, which announced that it would not take part in armed operations. It will instead focus entirely on humanitarian operations. The head of the German diplomacy, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, also stressed that Berlin would not participate in any air strikes, whether in Syria or Iraq.

The position of Britain, strong ally of the United States, is less clear. David Cameron “excludes nothing” about the bombings in Syria, said his spokesman. The Foreign Minister, a few hours earlier, has however assured that “Britain will not participate to any air strike in Syria.”

The French President, Francois Hollande, expected Friday in Iraq, for his part, has pledged his support to the United States for the airstrikes in Iraq but has not yet released any statement concerning operations in Syria.

Saudi arabia is the biggest contributor for terrorists and many terror groups. What has rattled them is the statement of ISIS that the saudi monarch will be dethroned in a few months!
