Is it acceptable whether Tamil New Year should be celebrated from the tamil month of "Thai"?

Surya Deva is powerful in Mesha Raasi (Chitirai) than in Makara Raasi (Thai) always. Hence our fore fathers started da year from Chitirai giving importance to Sun's Mesha raasi Pravesha. Even IDAI KAATTU SIDDHAR has composed "VENBAA" for each Tamil year starting from PRABHAVA, VIBHAVA & so on.They had no bias. In da 1st page of Tirunelveli "VAAKYA PANCHAANGAM" ( Sri.G. Srinivasan )you can see da "VENBAA" for SARVAJITH year.
It is predicted that SARVAJITH year is a prosperous year, with plenty of grains production.
