Sweet news: Amma Salt on its way – NEWS TODAY
Chennai: After subsidised water, food and vegetables, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will launch Amma Salt tomorrow here. She will commence the sale of three varieties of salt-- Double Fortified; Refined Free Flow Iodised; and Low Sodium-- at the Secretariat.
These are products of Tamilnadu Salt Corporation and are aimed at offering quality, healthy and cost-effective salt to the people of Tamilnadu.
According to sources, steps will be taken to ensure that these salt varieties are available all over Tamilnadu. Chief Secretary Mohan Verghese Chunkath, Principal Secretary, Industries Department and Chairman, Tamilnadu Salt Corporation C V Sankar and Managing Director, Tamilnadu Salt Corporation, C Kamaraj among other officials will take part in the launch of Amma Salt.
New CB-CID Headquarters Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa will also inaugurate tomorrow the new building for the Crime Branch-CID (CB-CID) office. The swanky building with state-of-the-art facilities has come up at the old Commissionerate premises at Egmore in the city.
