Stop Rajinikanth fans from pouring milk on his cutouts, Bengaluru man approaches court

The court has issued a notice to the actor seeking his response in the matter.

An injunction suit was filed against Tamil superstar Rajinikanth at a local court in Bengaluru, just two days prior to him getting the Padma Vibhushan, in connection with the ‘paal abhishekam’ ritual.

The ritual involves the pouring of milk on flex banners and life-sized cutouts of the star.

In Chennai for example, though the tradition started with fans doing puja in a few theatres like Kasi theatre in Ashok Nagar and Albert theatre in Egmore, considered to be lucky for the actor, soon it spread to mostly all theatres in all the districts.

The petition filed by Dr. IMS Manivannan on March 26 seeks to stop this practice on the ground that it leads to the wasteful discharge of thousands of litres of milk.

We have people to collect money from public and build temples for actresses

We have do have people to shave their head with a prayer seeking relief for a politician who is facing trial in a criminal case

We do have people to commit suicide when some politician is arrested for a misdeed

We do have people to burn buses against court judgments

We do have people to pour milk on the hoardings of cinema stars

We live in a world where cinema is becoming sacred religion…….

And politicians are worshipped.

We also see children and patients starving for milk in some of the hospitals. !!

And we ................. everything happening around us.

If we were to visit nageswarsm, thousands of litres of milk are wasted on raghu kaalams on all sundays based on a set of beliefs. When do we condemn that?
