Respectable members,

I was searching for the story 'பாம்பு' by Sujatha. ( ஸ்ரீரங்கம் கீழ சித்திர வீதியில் நடப்பதாக கற்பனை செய்யப்பட்ட கதை....கதையில் அத்தனை களேபரங்களுக்கு நடுவே, 'ஏன்டாப்பா! முத்தங்கி சேவை புறப்பாடு தொடங்கிடுத்தா? என்னும் ஒரு குருட்டு, செவிட்டு கிழவரின் கேள்வி..only Sujatha can think of these things!).

Anyway, I hit the 'jackpot'!

Thanks for the link re.

During 80s-90 s I was an avid reader of Sujatha , mostly in current periodicals as well as monthly single novel like publications. I did not preserve any of those books.

His stories and writings had much connection with computer and its uses/development,which attracted young and eager readers.
If I recall correctly, there was one story , about a futuristic vision- a visit to Tirupathi Temple on a future date.. the pilgrim calls for an air taxi on his terrace, reaches tirupathi temple- gets a few seconds time to have darshan of the Lord.---- All these pre arranged by computer precision and booked much much earlier . The descriptions were at that time so thrilling as a science fiction.

Another one I recall is his book on computers which served a beginner layman's guide to computer.

In that he had lucidly 'tamilised' the word " B A S I C ", ( Beginners Allpurpose Symbolic Instruction Code"as "ஆ ப கு சம்" ( something starting as "ஆரம்பிப்போர்......." which very well explains gives the meaning in translation almost equivalent to the english original.


That was Sujatha.

Dear SuryaKasyapa

I think the word மென்பொருள் was coined by him for SOFTWARE. This is also equivalent to the English original . Jambu:first:
