Dear Community Elders:
Please accept my greetings. I am a married 40 yo son of my widowed mother who is turning age 61 this June. Needless to say why, I am planning to celebrate it (Shastiabthapoorthy) in a grand manner in the most traditional way..
.
Now,
1. Do our dharma shastras permit me to do so?
2. If not, why?
3. If yes, what is comprised of in the Homams and what is not, esp. with regard to pouring water on her head. Please provide the details of the rituals.
4. Has anyone done this before for a widowed mother and how to go about it, in detail?
5. What are the most important things to be taken care of?
.
Thanks in advance
