Saraswati Poojai - Urgetn Advice needed

My mother passed away in January this year and for an year no auspicious functions are conducted at home. However, can we perform Saraswati poojai? Is it permissible? Can someone advice me on this?

You can do saraswathy pooja.

According to dharma sastra, no festival can be celeberated for a period of one year, that is upto varushaabthikam.

saraswathy pooja is not a festival. after 13 th day subha sweekaaram you are eligible to do panchaayathna pooja. Every brahmin must do daily nithya pooja. Instead of nithya pooja or along with nithya pooja you can do saraswathy pooja.with pori kadalai and fruits,cooked rice with ghee for neivedhyam. this is permissable.
