When is Rudram usually chanted?
What are the occasions for chanting rudram?
I would appreciate answers that would enlighten me.

Rudram is generally chanted in the evening hours of Pradosham day i.e. one day before Amavasya / Pournami. It is also chanted daily at Shiva Temples. It really gives good vibrations in the house / surroundings which I have personally experienced. Rudram should be chanted alongwith Chamakam.
general chanting can be done anytime in front of the god, and as already mentioned it can be chanted during pradosha kaala.
in case you are interested you can chat regularly on Mondays since it is very auspicious to chat for lord shiva on Somvaar.
