Seems like it covers all exigencies, while preserving the prominence (domination?) of the male progenies.

Regards,
KRS

Surprising that there is no mention of the second or other sons. Traditionally in case the eldest son is not able to do it, it is performed by one of the sons in accordance with their seniority.

Thank you, Sri. Iyyarooraan. Could you give the source of this?

You have stated

8.Patni: Wife
9.Jyeshtrabhraatha: Elder brother.
10.In case of ladies: Sapatni puthra – son of different mother.
11.Bhartha: Husband.
12.Puthri: Daughter

Our sasthirigal in general deny the right of Patni and Putri to perform the last rites.

The Samooha VAhini which published this does not give the source. There is a name appended below in the page "Nannilam Rajagopala Ganapaadigal". I am not sure it is from him. Anyway, I will try to find out and share with you when I can. Anyway, it seems to be authentic. As for the query of second or subsequent sons, the seniority will give the right in case where the eldest son is unable or does want to perform.
