Rig Veda Upakarma.

The Upkarma dates in 2015 are August 28 and August 29. In 2015,

Sama Vedi Upakarma is on September 15. It is the day the sacred thread worn by Brahmins known as ‘Yagnopavitam’ is changed.

There are Brahmins who are the followers of Rig Veda, Yajur Veda and Sama Veda and they have separate dates for Upakarma.

The ritual is also known as Avani Avittam in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Yajur Vedi Upakarma is observed a day before Shravan Poornima day (Full moon day in Sawan month) this year. Brahmins who are the followers of Yajur Veda change the sacred thread on the day. In 2015, the date is August 29.

Rig Vedi Upakarma is observed on the day of Shravan Poornima this year. Brahmins who are the followers of Rig Veda change the sacred thread on the day. In 2015, the date is August 28.

Gayatri Japam is on August 30.

Sama Vedi Upakarma is observed on the day after Shravan Amavasi (No moon day in Sawan month). Brahmins who are the followers of Sama Veda change the sacred thread on the day. In 2015, the date is September 15.

பாவம் செய்துவிட்டு பிராயச்சித்தம் செய்துவிட்டால் பாவம் போகுமா?


பாவம் செய்துவிட்டு பிராயச்சித்தம் செய்துவிட்டால் பாவம் போகுமா?
இதுதான் நம்முன் உள்ள பெரிய கேள்வி : பதில் போகாது.

அதாவது பாவம் இருவகைப்பட்டது ஒன்று அபதநீய பாவம் மற்றது பதநீயபாவம்

பிராயச்சித்தம் செய்வதால் தண்டனை குறைவது அபதநீய பாபம் களுக்கு மட்டுமே.

சந்தியாவந்தனத்தின் கடைசியிலும் மற்ற பூஜை போன்றவைகளின் இறுதியிலும் சொல்லும் மந்திரம் காயேன வாசா மனசா இந்திரைர் வா புத்தி ஆத்மனாவா பிரகிரதேர் ஸ்வபாவாத் கரோமி யத் யத் சகலம் பரசமை ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணா யேத் சமர்பயாமி.

அதாவது பிரகிருதி எனப்படும் இயற்கையை ஒட்டி நாம் உடலாலும் வாக்கினாலும் மனதினாலும் இந்திரியங்களாலும் புத்தியினாலும் ஆத்மாவினாலும் செய்யும் செயல்கள் அனைத்தும் நாராயணனுக்கே சென்று அடையட்டும்

அதாவது மனிதனாகப்பிற்ந்ததினால் சொந்தநலன் கருதாமல் பாவம் புண்ணியம் என்றெல்லாம் பார்க்காமல் நாம் வாழ்வதற்காக இயற்கையை ஒட்டி செய்யும் செயல்களினால் ஏற்படும் பாபம் பாதிக்காது.

அதனால் ஏற்படும் பாவ புண்ணியங்கள் அந்த நாராயணனையே சேரும்

அதேபோல காயத்ரி ஜபத்தன்று செய்யும் சங்கல்பத்தில் சொல்லும் வார்த்தை "அபதநீய பிராய சித்தார்த்தம்" என்பதில் இருந்து சாதாரண பாபங்களுக்கு மட்டுமே பிராயச்சித்தம் செய்து கொள்ளமுடியும், அதற்கு பலனும் கிடைக்கும்

பிராயச்சித்தம் என்பது அறியாமல் செய்த பாவங்களுக்கும் ,சிலநேரங்களில் பற்று பாசத்தின் காரணமாக நமது நலனுக்காக அடுத்தவர்களை பாதிக்கும் காரியங்களை செய்ததற்காக மட்டுமே செய்யப்படுவது அதனால் நமக்கு பாவம் குறைகிறதோ இல்லையோ தவறுக்கு வருந்தி மன்னிப்பு கேட்டதாக ஆகும்
