Those days people used to have oil bath regularly from the point of view
of maintaining good health. But that had certain basic concepts to be followed.
Sunday - Loose your beauty
Monday - Accumulate Goods
Tuesday - Not good for family
Wednesday - Growth of Education
Thursday - Destruction of Knowledge
Friday - Appreciation
Saturday - Growth of Family
Similarly, if some one leaves to Outstation from our House, one should not
take oil bath that day.

this morning, necessity for the above and diminishing value in complying with came
up for a sensational argument. Since the above topic was in my uppermost mind, I
felt that why should I not share it with some one having no specific reasoning behind it.

The following points have some important issues to be watched :
When you offer food, immediately after Neivadhyam, to Crow, all our bad deeds will not
follow us. Besides it satisfy s our Pitrus. Because of this, unity in the house will prevail.
If you buy salt on Fridays, the buyer will be blessed with Lakshmi Kadaksham
As you open the door in the morning, if you chant the names of Ashta Lakhsmi's, it is presumed
that the Ashta Lakshmi enters your House and blesses you.
The Pictures of Gods/Goddesses should not be kept facing Northwards. It should preferably be
faced Eastwards only. If not possible, Lord Vishnu or Perumal's Picture can be focussed towards
South side. Other ones can be towards West Side.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday can be chosen for offering food to Guests. Others too
can visit similarly. Other days are not preferable according to Neethi Sastras.
One should keep certain things secret. viz. Age, Giving and Taking, Family Matters, Chanted Mantras,
Ingredients of Medicines (Hand-made herbals), Husband-Wife personal experiences, Gifts, Disrespect, etc.
Our Head Hair has an easily be used towards Tantric related Issues. Hence, Head Hair and Nail should not
be thrown like that outside. One should avoid cutting Hair & Nail on Fridays and Tuesdays.
Garuda Darshan on certain days have some effects - Sunday - One can get cured from diseases
Monday - Improvement of Family Welfare Tuesday - Can gain courage Wednesday - Enemies will get wiped out
Thursday - Long Life and Saturday - Mukthi
If Amavasya comes on Mondays, it is known as Ama Somavaram. On that day, if one goes around the Arasa Tree
108 times and prays, one will get easily an issue (Putra bakyam).
The oil taken to the temple for lighting a lamp should not be brought back.
