Performing 1st Year rituals in Kashi

My father passed away this year and my elder brother is performing all the rituals prescribed by our family vadiyar on the dates provided.

My mother is desiring that we perform the Varshadiyam (i.e after completion of 1 year) at Kashi. She believes that by doing so it is very auspicious for the departed soul. Our vadiyar is of the opinion that performing it in the place where he passed away is the most preferred for the 1st year.

Please advice.

If we have family vadhya (sashtrihal we should follow his instructions only). Can anybody give details of gaya /kasi/thriveni srartham details and cotact numbers
