This book is compiled really well. Do we have it for Rig Veda - Asvalayana Suthra?

Presently we did it for Yajur Vedha only. If we get authentic material in Sanskrit, we can develop a similar one for other vedhas/suthrams.

Pithru Tarpanam is the basic ingredient of Mahalayam and Shannavathi. One whose Father is no more can only perform Pithru Tarpanam. Mahalayam or Pithru Paksham( Ancestors Fortnight) comes in Avani or Purattasi ( Tamil months). This consists of 2 types of doing. 1) Paksha Tarpanam I.e doing Tarpanam on all the 15 days of the Paksham and 2) Sakrun Mahalayam (doing Tarpanam only on a particular day in the fortnight). Mahalayam has a unique feature of doing Tarpanam for Karunika Pithrus ( Dear relatives, Guru, friends etc.) in addition to our regular Pithrus for whom we do Tarpanam on New Moon days.
Shannavathi consists of doing around 96 Tarpanams on different Pithru dates given in the Almanac spread throughout the year. Mahalaya Tarpanam is a subset of Shannavathi.
