[h=1]Nokia is not getting back into the Mobile Phone Industry[/h] April 26, 2015 Kishore Ganesh Leave a comment
Nokia is a heavy-weight in the Mobile Industry, and its slow reactions were the reason for its fall from dominance. It was no longer the king of the mobile phone market, but yet, people associated Nokia’s brand with durability and battery-life. That’s how big an impact Nokia made on everyone.
When Microsoft acquired Nokia some time back, it wasn’t acquiring the full Nokia. The meaty part of Nokia, including patents was still not owned by Microsoft. Microsoft had struck a deal with Nokia that Nokia will not manufacture its own devices before 2016.
Now, 2016 is nearing, and many said that Nokia is looking to get back into the mobile Phone Industry, and that it has already started production. But now, Nokia denies all this, and says that it is only looking forward to licensing deals, as it did with its N1 Tablet, which carried the Nokia branding but was manufactured by Foxconn.
Currently, Nokia is focusing more on networking, and in fact acquired Alcatel Lucent recently
What do you think? Are you saddened that the era of Nokia phones is coming to a close?
