Windows 10
is the most important for Microsoft and its future depends on it, which is why it is showing an increasing level of communication with Users and a much more focused Insider Program.

While earlier versions of the OS too provided Users with a Beta Version to try out, Windows 10 pushes this system to an unprecedented level. Microsoft is continually pushing out updates, which is something you usually do not see with Windows Preview Editions.

After the announcement of Windows 10’s full Catalog of Features, which included Cortana and increased Xbox Integration, Microsoft is now releasing the January Build for Windows 10 Technical Preview.

This one is a biggie: It has an early version of Cortana built in, and also is the first Preview Edition to deploy the Xbox App, which serves as a front for increased communication with your Xbox. Game DVR and Remote Play aren’t available yet.

It also deploys the new Start Menu, and has Continuum, which means it can detect which interface you are using to control the Device, and adapt the UI to suit that interface.

The Settings App has been merged with the Control Panel, and there are smaller tweaks for increased integration and communication.

Of course, not all features are available in the January Build and even the ones that are available are rudimentary, basic and have quite a bit of bugs.

This is why we recommend that you install the Preview Edition inside a Virtual Machine or on a PC that is not your Primary PC, as it is less stable and less secure than the full release of Windows.

What do you think? Ready to skip over 8 to make way for 10?
