For long, Windows hasn’t had a flagship, with Android and iOS seemingly getting a flagship just every other day. and now, Microsoft seems to have two flagship Windows Phone devices under development.


Now, however, specs and pictures of at least one of the devices was posted mistakenly by Microsoft, with a 20MP back camera, 5.2/5.7 inch screen and ample amounts of storage.


Indeecd, MIcrosoft hopes to make a dent in sales with the Lumia 950XL, which is expected to be officially announced at Microsoft’s event on October 6.

Microsoft has serious quality problem and therefore an earned perception problem. Their office product and its widespread deployed base is their main strength. Windows 10 is nothing spectacular. Google's office products works seamlessly across Microsoft's offering (and it is free).

Microsoft's cloud strategy is about offering unlimited space in exchange of renewal of Office license every year for very nominal price and this is a super strategy. Their OneNote product and Surface Pro3 tablets are great products. Their overall strategy is reasonable but their reputation of unreliability is the cause of their downfall. They have to improve their execution.

Without windows phone, their ability to play the role of one of the top 3 is limited. They are doing everything they can to revive the windows phone business.
The reputation is tarnished compared to Apple and Google. I hope they succeed since it will be good to have choices in the market place.
