The issue is the #Metoo is always against men who are in power or position or fame etc

Why no #Metoo against..autodriver..local gonda or ordinary guys when perverts are found everywhere.

I wonder if anyone would start claiming Modi too " #Metoo"ed them.

Let's wait and watch.

There was a case here once where a father reprimanded his daughter for hanging out with her boyfriend and the girl made a false claim to the police that her father raped her cos she was angry with her father for reprimanding her..later it was proved that the father was innocent.

hi

i agreed.....some wants publicity....

Guys too should start a #Metoo and claim women seduced them and offered sex to get to favors..then men also should make videos of themselves crying..but dont make the videos right away when they are still good looking 6 pack and all.
..wait for 20 years till they are much older and become bald and fat like some shirtless mama with man boobs..then cry on video and blame some famous women of raping them too and robbed their manhood virginity.

Seriously give me a break!

I sure do know sexual harassment is everywhere but not every female is a victim..esp film industry many agree to sleep to the top...Rakhee Sawant had given an interview saying how casting couch was there and she was crying saying how hard she worked tru all these to get roles...but one can decide to walk off instead of having to sleep around and cry s if there are no other jobs around.....some of them want to be top actresses..then when they are older they miss their virginity!

Becos of all these false alarms real rape and harassment cases are not take seriously..cos every real victim would have to work a 100x harder to prove her innocence.

So all these false alarm females claiming #Me too..we should say #U screwed too!

Thats why Porn stars are the best...they never say #Me too!

Many complaints are about happenings years back!!

How to get the proof?

Also, how do these females define harrassment? :noidea:

Author Martha Langelan describes four different classes of harassers.

  • A predatory harasser: a person who gets sexual thrills from humiliating others. This harasser may become involved in sexual extortion, and may frequently harass just to see how targets respond. Those who don't resist may even become targets for rape.
  • A dominance harasser: the most common type, who engages in harassing behavior as an ego boost.
  • Strategic or territorial harassers who seek to maintain privilege in jobs or physical locations, for example a man's harassment of a female employee in a predominantly male occupation.
  • A street harasser: Another type of sexual harassment performed in public places by strangers. Street harassment includes verbal and nonverbal behavior, remarks that are frequently sexual in nature and comment on physical appearance or a person's presence in public.
Forms of harassment relationships include:

  • The perpetrator can be anyone, such as a client, a co-worker, a parent or legal guardian, relative, a teacher or professor, a student, a friend, or a stranger.
  • The place of harassment occurrence may vary from different schools workplace and other.
  • There may or may not be other witnesses or attendances.
  • The perpetrator may be completely unaware that his or her behavior is offensive or constitutes sexual harassment. The perpetrator may be completely unaware that his or her actions could be unlawful.
  • The incident can take place in situations in which the harassed person may not be aware of or understand what is happening.
  • The incident may be a one time occurrence but more often the incident repeats.
  • Adverse effects on the target are common in the form of stress, social withdrawal, sleep, eating difficulties, and overall health impairment.
  • The victim and perpetrator can be any gender.
  • The perpetrator does not have to be of the opposite sex.
  • The incident can result from a situation in which the perpetrator thinks they are making themselves clear, but is not understood the way they intended. The misunderstanding can either be reasonable or unreasonable. An example of unreasonable is when a woman holds a certain stereotypical view of a man such that she did not understand the man’s explicit message to stop.

Most women have reasons to feel harassed due to unwanted attention from men.All public places are full of men of all ages ogling at women and hoping that they can get into

a relationship with women. The new open society is making possible interactions never available before between sexes. It appears sensible for women to choose some man to

go out with as one devil accompanying can protect her from other devils. But when multiple men corner women late evening after a party , single male cannot do much

except put some weak resistance. In places like delhi, passers by just watch and let women get just hurt. Some might even use their cell phones to record it than

intervening. One reads of so many such incidents happening in heart of the town .We have become numb and insensitive as it happens to people we do not know.Only when

it strikes a relative or a friend it hurts.

[h=1]#MeToo India: Why Women are Not Each Other’s ‘Natural’ Allies at the Workplace[/h]
The #MeToo movement is all about the power of collective sisterhood, but women are not necessarily natural allies in the workplace. Several of the stories that have emerged before and during this wave of #MeToo have illustrated this painfully. You have Seema Mustafa taking a position of willful inactionwhen approached by an agitated Ghazala Wabab at the Asian Age office. The woman who has taken R K Pachauri to court for sexual harassment has spoken about how she hopes to name and shame the women who were “complicit in allowing the atmosphere to breed crime”. Ex-Tehelka managing editor and avowed feminist Shoma Chaudhury came under fire for shielding boss Tarun Tejpal when a colleague accused him of sexual assault. Former Indian Idol assistant producer Danica D’Souza has described how women seniors in the production house “turned a blind eye” to Anu Malik’s harassment even as they warned young women to never meet him alone.

In a Print article titled ‘#MeToo in India should not forgive women who enable patriarchy and rape culture’, Shivam Vij says “Women in positions of power are expected to not defend men who harass and assault women.” Unfortunately, this is not true. As many cases have shown, this is exactly what we can expect many women to do.

We see women defending abusers, we see women pretending ignorance, we see women dispensing hugs, we see women offering tips for self-protection—but what they have in common is their refusal to take action even if they have the power to do so.

So, why do some women enable or even promote misogyny in the workplace? After all, many of them believe in feminist ideals, don’t they? Are they just horrible people? Answer: No. They are human beings and it’s human nature to keep your own behind covered.

Simple...dont drink..dont attend parties.
Or if attending parties..make sure no alcohol and only be with trusted friends and never meet up with anyone alone be it male or female.

Its that simple..what is so hard.
Not all men are bad..we cant mistrust everyone but just play safe.

I am going to take issue with this position.

Men have to change their behavior. The good old boys club must end.
It is not right that women have to live a scared life, just because there are few predators around. I have no problem if these predators are eliminated or caged to make it safe.
Women have to work outside of the home. They have to socialize. I do agree that we have to be aware of our surroundings all the time. But others have to follow the rules of the game.

All men are not bad. But these allegations may take an ugly turn.

Unless enquirer is conducted swiftly, and guilty punished from both sides, we may expect more names.

What is surprising is people are glorifying politicians, actors, sportsmen etc if they marry more than once, without legal sanction.

Even common men want Chinna Veedus just that they dare not partly becos of financial constrain.

Many try to have "halal" chinna veedus by claiming they are just friends but do everything else under the sun except gunning it.
Emotional affairs are on the rise but some choose to call it "intellectual discussion of the non hormonal kind"...its always better to be honest. ..if one desires a Chinna Veedu but cant afford it or not famous enough for it or not handsome enough for it...dont envy men who do..let them have fun.

Envy is an evil monster!

Socializing need not involve alcohol..this is the main cause of problems for both men and women..both try to get too close for comfort and next someone would be shouting #Metoo.

Life isnt that hard...no need to play victim card 24/7 unless one is really a victim of actual rape and harassment.

The average Indian male usually insults a women if he gets into a disagreement with her.

If she has differing views he would get all abusive and degrade her by calling her names with have heavy character assassination undertones...so the best is just avoid getting too friendly with situations which could endanger us.

Is it that hard?

See...not all Lions are man eaters but how would we know unless we jump into a lions den?

So do we want to take a risk?

We have to get facts straight..there are good men and also bad and also men who behaved badly under the influence of alcohol and ended up doing something he didnt intend..so why be at risk and try to find out which type we are facing...so always be safe.

Even men have to take precaution cos some women would seduce them then scream #Metoo...so nowadays its a dangerous world out there.

Why go so far...Surphanaka too faced a #Metoo situation cos Rama and Lakshmana cut her nose and ears.
All she did is try to flirt with them and they insulted her and mocked her by making go back forth between Rama and Lakshmana and Seeta being a female didnt even tell Rama and Lakshmana to stop mocking a female and rest is history.

So the #Metoo of Surphanaka angered Ravana and we got the Ramayan!

I know this sounds like the exact opposite of MeToo, but every time this topic come to mind, I'm reminded of a visit to my paternal uncle (dad's eldest brother) and aunt's flat halfway through 2014 (I was 17-18 at the time; I was born in 1996). During the later part of the visit, I fondly remember my paternal aunt saying to me "You're a good kid", and giving me a big hug in the process. That makes sense because she's my aunt, right? In other words, the true motive is an aunt's love, not to harass anybody. In fact, the next thing that came to mind is "That feels so good!". I never found time to visit them after that, but I always will cherish that memory as long as I live. Another message I want to give is : make sure you know who you are getting the "hug" from!
