It is more like 'Nobody cares like whatever the person does/wish to do'.Like a son does not listen to his parents words and wants to go in his own track often parents say 'Thanni thelichu vittachu'nu.Not sure about the origination of the word though.....

Greetings.

In the villages sometimes someone would 'donate' a cow or bull to one of the temples ( usually bull). They would let the bull loose after sprinkling tumeric water and/or other ceremonial water ( like water from the 'kalasam' etc). Then the 'ex-owner' wouldn't pay attention about it's actions. I think 'thanni thelichu vidaradhu' originated from that.

Cheers!

hi raghy sir,
you are rite....like temple bulls...kovil maadu in tamil....when we give bull to the temple as daanam....we have to sprinkle some

water on it....it means it does not belong to us anymore...like that generally a son is called like this....thanni thelichu vidrarathu....

it shows disobeying to the parents....no body can question him......
