Madhurashtakam

Vallabhacharya (1479-1531) propounded Shuddh Advaita called puSTImarg. In Shankara's Advaita,Isvara is omnipresent sAksi or brahman in every jIva. jnana of jIva is realizing that oneness with brahman or sAksi through bhakti or tattva, cutting through the mAyA.

In Shuddh advaita, jIva is verily brahman. There's no mAyA. jnAnA is simply dedicating jIva to Krishna, which makes jIva to enjoy this Universe as madhura (sweet) leela (play). Hence 'pure' advaita. When jIva is dedicated to Krishna, the Lord of sweetness (madhuradipati), all Universe (akhilam) is sweet (madhuram)

According to Vallabhacharya, Universe is divine in nature. jIva is the spark of the fire. Instead of detaching, enjoying by dedication to Krishna is puSTi mArg. He disregarded hereditary caste system, treated woman and man equally. Akbar and Jehangir patronized the sect he founded with huge grants. His works include 'Siddhant Rahasya', 'Mukti Vardhini', 'Sanyas Nirnaya' etc. On April 14 1977, the Govt of India issued a postage stamp in his honour.
