Looking for Vishnu temple in Philadelphia/ South New Jersey area

Hello,

I am looking for a Iyengar temple in Philadelphia/ South New Jersey area to hold a wedding this upcoming September. We are new to the area, and are not familiar with Iyengar/south indian temples. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Raj
hi

please check with sri balaji temple in bridgewater new jersey.....its very close to philadelphia/south jesrsey..

this is basically vaishnava/iyengar temple....or pittsburgh sv temple....both are famous for iyengar temples..

i visited both temples...in fact i was arranged my daughter's wedding in bridgewater sri balaji temple..

I am not an Iyengar. But according to Iyengar practice if a non-Vishnu idol is present in the Temple that is not an Iyengar temple. By that qualification, both Bridgewater and Pittsburg are not strictly Iyengar temples.

Only Rangnatha Temple in NY meets that criteria.

I know some true Iyengars shun the Iyengars who visit a non-Iyengar temple. like Bridgwater or even Pittsburg because they have Ganesh Moorty inside the same Temple structure.

Yes, there are various Vishnu Temples where you can find Iyengar priests.

You see why Brahmins will never come together. even after moving to USA? This Iyer-Iyengar differences. Vishnu gave his sister hand to Shiva? \

You should be asking the local Tamil association in the USA. Please try there.

It's a matter of individual preference. I will consider both same the day people stop worshipping cartoons like Sharabeshwara
