Passing away of violin legend Sri.Lalgudi Jayaraman has created a void in Carnatic music field.All Carnatic music rasikas will definitely miss his live melodious violin kutcheris.However, there is a consolation that his children are there to carry on his unique style of playing the instrument.May the noble soul rest in peace.

Lalgudi Jayaraman's paassing away leaves Carnatic Music crying deeply. He was a gentleman in the music world and simply concentrated on music which to him was everything. He could write with great ease, but would say with a smile. "There is too much politics here. Cannot talk openly!" It is a pity that the Sangeetha Kalanidhi award was never given to him by the Music Academy till the end, though they gave him something else a few years ago. Much arrogance has been removed from the Music Academy since those days, yet there has to be improvement in the treatment of Vidwans! May Lalgudi Jayaraman live for ever through the music of his gifted children and disciples.

Sri. Lalgudi Jayaraman was a vidwan par excellence. I always tell my music students to listen to his violin
recitals to get the clear picture of anuswarams in each rAgam. His school of music will continue for ever
by the efforts of his children and vast number of students. May his soul rest in peace.
