[h=1]Kulbhushan Jadhav trial at ICJ: India, Pakistan wait and watch as court to announce verdict 3.30 pm tomorrow[/h]
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) heard the arguments made by India and Pakistan on Monday over the fate of Kulbhushan Jadhav with New Delhi invoking the court's jurisdiction to see that the death sentence against him was annulled. According to the latest reports, ICJ order on Jadhav to be announced tomorrow at 3:30 pm.

During its submission, India had demanded the immediate suspension of Jadhav's death sentence, expressing fears that Pakistan could execute him even before the hearing at the ICJ was over.

India's forceful submission was made as the ICJ began hearing the case of the 46-year-old former Navy officer, who was arrested on 3 March last year and sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and subversive activities.

The Jadhav case was taken to the world court on 8 May by India, which accused Pakistan of violating the Vienna Convention and conducting a "farcical trial" for convicting Jadhav without a "shred of evidence".

The International Court of Justice said Pakistan cannot hang Kulbhushan Jadhav for now.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) said on Thursday Pakistan cannot hang Kulbhushan Jadhav for now. The world court ordered Islamabad to give consular access to Jadhav.

“Pakistan shall take all measures to ensure that Jadhav is not hanged until a final decision by the court”, said ICJ judge Ronny Abraham.

“The circumstances of his arrest are in dispute... India should have been given consular access as per Vienna Convention”.
Pronouncing the court’s order, Abraham said the ICJ had jurisdiction in the matter.
