In Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Swami temple, Sri Subrahmanya is intertwined with the serpent Vasuki. Does anyone know the reason and the tattwa behind this? (Not the story of the sthala).

BTW: This sthala is said to be very powerful remedial sthala for pariharas for sarpa dosha including Kalasarpadosha.

Giving my own attempt at it, astrologically Mars and Rahu are dire enemies. Here, Subrahmanya stands for Mars and the serpent Vasuki stands for Rahu. And Subrahmanya's vel is capable of cutting through the serpent's body. So given these factors, I am inclined to think that by virtue of being intertwined by Vasuki while holding the vel, Subrahmanya here signifies the capability to cut through the jataka's sarpa dosha.

Alternative explanations welcome.
