Kappiyampuliur Kothandaramar Temple Pavithrothsavam
Kappiyampuliyur is a village near Villupuram Vikravandi. The Pavithrothsavam in this temple concluded last Sunday on Aug 2nd. Had the opportunity to attend the 3rd day of the utsavam. In this temple, there are also shrines for Shri Dwarakanathar, Chakkarathaazhwar and Garudazhwar.
The bhattachariyar mentioned that the name Kappiyampuliyur is actually "Thappiya Maan Puliyur", with the legend of Ramayana's deer chase associated with the place.
You can also see the wall painting of Shri Vikhanasa Muneendrar with his four sage disciples on the wall.
The Pavithrothsavam of the adjacent village temple (Sri Lakshmi Narayana Varadharaja Perumal) of Poigaipakkam is scheduled for Purattasi month in September (18 - 20). Will post further details.
