A bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu on Thursday dismissed the railways' petition more out of compassion for the distressed family than on a point of law. ​

Equally interesting was a direction to a couple looking for a judgement on divorce to remain married until their daughter 18 years gets married and not unduly hurt her

marriage prospects by divorcing each other. Here there was no point of law as such for not granting divorce to the couple.Judges are caring humans also sometimes
