INDIAN RUPPE GOT NEW SYMBOL IT IS A MIX OF DEVANAGARI AND ENGLISH WIJH THE STRIP ON TOP TO REPRACENT THE NATIONAL FLAG. WILL BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE COUNTY IN 6 MONTHS TIME AND IN INTERNATIONL WITH IN 18 MONTHS.

ONE MR UDAYKUMAR CREATED THE NEW SYMBOL, FROM TAMIL NADU - GAUHATI IIT.

THERE ARE COUNTIES HAVEING THE SAME OR SIMILAR ACCENT AS OURS. SO FAR WE USE :- Rs. OR INR TO IDENTIFY THE CURRENCY.

HOW IT WILL HELP INDIA AND INDIAN RUPEES. IN THE PRESENT INDIAN INFLUENCE IN THE WORLD ....

The symbol is representative of both English (R) and the Hindi letter (Ra). Let us see whether it is good omen to give more value to our currency. The symbol does not represent Tamil letter but it is created by a man from Chennai. Thanks to him

The symbol becomes a `Brand' after some time. In the last decade, Euro became No.2 currency in the world after US $. Hopefully Indian Rupee becomes a most desired currency in this decade.

I was told by one of my friend that computer key boards in India will have rupee key herein after.

All the best

While the symbol is almost a replica of the alphabet in Devanagari (Hindi,Sanskrit mainly), it has resemblance to the first alphabet in word equivalent to rupee in many Indian languages.

An examination of the Indian Currency note will reveal this.

Just to elicit more thoughts ,----- the beejakshara "ra" has and significance
" ...Retroflex र ra Vahni/Agni (fire) Beeja; Carries the mantra to the Gods and is used in most Beejakshara e.g. Hraam, Hreem, , Kreem etc. contain RA...."
