Dear Shri Gane,
You are right... we live in a "free for all" society, but let the brawl be limited to the scene proper and not transmitted all over.
I may sound very rude and crude and tribal. Yet, I seriously doubt whether a Professor with a (brahmin-sounding) name of Ramamoorthy and being employed in a very prestigious institution like IITM would have been foolish enough to vent his sexual outburst once he was in some other country and knew full well that the girl also would return to India and not be vanishing into nothingness after the seminar in Sweden.
What I am trying to suggest is that just as section 498 (a) of the IPC is found to be rampantly misused now, we cannot rule our the possibility of this 'sexual harassment' provisions also being misused. My suggestion, therefore, is let us not jump the gun, but wait atleast till we come to know the statements of both parties, and let us not like zombies programmed, bay for the blood of any male against whom a female brings up a charge of sexual harassment.
