[h=1]Talking Of Domestic Violence, Indian Wives Have Been Ranked Third In Beating Husbands[/h]Domestic violence is a term that is seldom used for ‘husbands’ in our society. While this issue is rampant in both the rural and urban sectors of the country, we often forget that violence does not have a gender.

A recent study conducted by the UN has revealed some shocking results regarding the statistics about domestic violence against husbands. Egypt has been ranked at number one when it comes to abusing and beating husbands. UK is at number two and India is at the third spot.

According to the data that was collected, wives are said to use rolling pins, belts shoes and kitchen tools to hit their husbands.

Some might find it funny to see India’s name on the list, others may not. Whatever said and done, the fact that our country is in the top three of a survey that we cannot be proud of, highlights the sad truth and points out to a deeper problem here. Besides an evident scenaio of dometic abuse, the men in our country are clearly going through emotional and mental abuse as well, and we as a society are failing them by not addressng it in the right way.

The sad reality is the ignorance that we , as a society endure and neglect that men, too, suffer in silence. There is a strong and an immediate need for a paradigm shift in our country since the society is naturally more sympathetic and forgiving towards the women. While it cannot be denied that women do suffer at the hands of a bad marriage, one can also not forego of the stark reality that men are also at the receiving end. People had strong reactions on Twiter after the results of the survey were published.

Egyptian women number one in beating husbands, shows UN study

While the East is not known for ‘abusive’ women, surprising statistics revealed by the UN indicate that Egyptian women are ‘world number one’ in abusing and beating their husbands.

Egypt is followed by United Kingdom and India in the ranking. The data, obtained from the Egyptian Family Court, shows that 66% of wives who abuse and beat their husbands apply for divorce in the Family Court.
CII proposes husbands be allowed to ‘lightly beat’ defying wives
Husbands who suffer abuse often have no another way to defend themselves from the violence except by suing their wives, with cases reaching 6,000.
The data further reveals that wives don’t only use their hands in beating their husbands, but also tools such as pins, belts, weapons, kitchen tools and shoes. Some even using sleeping pills in order to beat and burn their husbands.
Iranian men are wearing hijabs in solidarity with their wives
Earlier this year, Egypt’s top prosecutor has ordered the arrest of a Facebook page administrator whose assertion on a popular television talk show that a third of married women in the conservative country are unfaithful caused a social media uproar.
The public prosecutor issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday for Taymour el-Sobky, accusing him of slandering Egyptian women and damaging their honor, according to a statement from his office.

In India..I wonder which state tops as husband beaters?

I suspect West Bengal..the Durga/Kali trash males!!!

Why should T N lag behind then, they also worship AMMAN!!:lol:

Nothing like that!!!LOL

TN women would break into a group dance and pray for their ailing villain husband who is being chased by a computer graphic fire breathing monster and TN females would even fight with Amman and accuse her of being Thali thirsty and wanting to snatch the life of the good for nothing husband.

Some TN females would throw themselves at a Trishul to save husbands life!

Then Amman or should I say Ramya Krishnan would take form in the temple..dance for a while..become Vishwaroopini and switch off the computer graphic monster.

So you see...no other state woman can make Amman dance and help save even good for nothing husbandsLOL

He may be good for nothing but he would still be a kanavan of kal and not a purushan of pul. If a pul, the dance will not have a viswarupini with a trishul. Rather it would become an absorbing cabaret number by a Ramba, Menaka or Tilottama from Indran's court trying to hook a viewer may be with a six pack. LOL.
