[h=1]Heat wave warning for interior TN, not Chennai[/h]Chennai: Just months after the unprecedented floods, Chennai is now suffering from a different deluge - this time from the sun. For the past few days, Chennaiites are feeling the heat, literally, with officials warning of a heat wave in the city. But all hopes are not lost, as the Met department today said the temperature in the city may come down by a notch. However, they said, the heat wave warning will stay for the next 24 hours in the interior parts of Tamilnadu.
The maximum temperature in the city last year on the same day was 35 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature today reached 35.5 degrees (till 12.30 pm).
An official cautioned that in some parts of the State the temperature is likely to rise up to 41 degrees Celsius, because of which the heat wave warning was issued.
