If you are really concerned, then you should go to the temple nearby and take part veda parayanam by the group. Here the pandits used to give the meaning of the subject they are teaching. There are in numerous veda padasala in karnata, Tamil Nadu and other states. Please visit one of them so you will get more insights into the subject.
