Once vedanta desikar went to srivilliputhur and was contemplating on Andal. As he was thinking, he saw Andal procession entering his street. Normally procession does not come in that street. But due to theetu in other streets, Andal procession entered his street. Desikar was overwhelmed with devotion and wrote 29 stanzas on Godhai, the Andal.
Like the Earth whose flowers become the garland of Vishnu, Andal's garlands become Lord Rangamannar's garlands. Thus Andal is sAksat bhudevi says Vedanta desikar.
He goes on to say like Mother Earth who hides her heated inner core with colder outside, Andal's taapam is covered with cooler devotion. The entire southern region has done puNyam that bhudevi took avatar as Andal in srivilliputhur. It's due to glance of Lord Ranganathan in Rangapatna. He ridicules Andal for choosing such a husband who is the oldest and sleeping on serpents. Then apologetically he says Andal's garlands are vaijayanti mAlas (victory garlands) surrounded by bees who makes Ranganathan complete as uttama angam. Though Ranganthan has all fragrances, the fragrance of Andal's hair through her garland, adds newer fragrances to him.
As Andal keeps talking to Lord Ranganatha others don't know what's happening in that talk between them. For others it appears abnormal, as we are not trained to see that normally.
Lord does not interfere in people's karma. He leaves people to suffer their karma, which is the cause for all suffering of people. But as we submit go Kothai, bhudevi or Andal forgives small mistakes with simple recommendations to Lord Ranganathan and alleviates our suffering. But for greater mistakes overshadowing our gunas, Kothai convinces Lord Ranganatha when they are in the bhoga state to pardon. Without these interventions people suffer their karma.
