[h=1]Garbage to school admissions: Civic workers strike affecting Delhiites[/h]Garbage strewn streets were back to haunt the city residents on Wednesday as the strike by municipal workers entered day two.

The workers littered the streets with garbage in many parts of the city, including Duragapuri Chowk, Mayur Vihar, Karol Bagh, Madangeer and Saket. However, areas in south and north Delhi were relatively less affected by the strike than in east Delhi.

“All the sanitation workers are on strike. We are not collecting any garbage but we are also not spilling garbage on the roads,” said Rajendra Mewati, general secretary of United Front of MCD Employees.

The worst affected, however, were the school students who were either sent back home from their schools or refused to be taught by their teachers. The municipal teachers, among the rest of the employees, have completely boycotted teaching. While most of the teachers stayed away from schools, those present in school led a pen-down strike. ‘No money, no work’ was also seen written at some of the municipal schools.

The political blame game over the strike by over one lakh municipal workers in Delhi continued as the stir entered its third day on Friday. With the three-day ultimatum ending, the workers’ unions said their agitation would now continue till they get pending salaries.

The municipal corporation and BJP leaders accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of deliberately holding back funds to gain political mileage while the AAP reiterated that rampant corruption and financial mismanagement by the BJP was responsible for the crisis.

With no end to the ongoing stalemate in sight, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Friday issued a letter to the three municipal commissioners, demanding details of the pending salary and arrears.

Sources in the corporation said the municipal commissioners had sought Rs 1,500 crore as immediate relief so that they could pay salaries of their employees.

The real issue is that the Delhi municipal corporation was made into separate zonal corporations based on geograph north , south .east.west. These are not viable on their

own.

Also their finances are in a mess and their records are either faulty or not transferred to them properly.

So most are operating without controls .

These are dependant on delhi govt for money.

The political element comes in as different parties rule corporations , state and central govt.

If central govt harasses and paralyses state govt , the state govt screws up the MCDs.

The sufferers are only the garbage cleaners and corporation school teachers.

The solution is to merge the weak municipal corporations to make them viable

The sufferers are only the garbage cleaners and corporation school teachers.

The suffers are only the garbage cleaners and corporation school tacher...? Not the residents of Delhi......?

So the ego clash between two individuals viz the all powerful Governor and the mighty AK continues at the capital and the worst hit are the residents who are the sufferers for having voted AK to power.

And we have Governments which shows no sense of urgency on such vital issues ..?

Central Government ........... in the hands of BJP;

Delhi State Government ...... ..in the hands of AAP;

Delhi Municipal Corporations... in the hands of BJP;

Delhiwalas day today life... are in the hands Slumdog millionaires (Corporation workers)!!

Each one is seriously busy in trading charges on other. Mudslinging.... passing the buck....... blame game...etc . going on.

Delhiites remain silent spectators.......... Where is the watchdog....?

Who protects the residents of Delhi who are exposed to the ire of these street dogs against threat of rabies?

Who show compassion to these poor stray dogs?

How to ensure that these street dogs are confined to a particular place?

Who monitors their sterilization/vacation every year?

.......

If we show compassion to street dogs ,other animals cows and buffalloes on the road would say discrimination and blame AAP govt.

AAP govt would say that municipal corpn.s should handle the problem .

RSS would say that cows require protection as they are Gowmathas.

Our court would ask election commission to hold byepolls in delhi to resolve all outstanding issues.

Modi around the corner might jump in and start swach bharat again along with RSS shouting about cow protection.

So there is Maneka Gandhi to protect stray dogs!

There is Modi to protect cows against killing!

Delhiites worried about buffaloes whether they may claim discrimination

But there is none to worry about piling up of carbage.

"BJP, AAP Blame Each Other As Garbage Piles Up In Delhi

NEW DELHI: With Delhi municipal workers on strike and garbage piling in the city, the Arvind Kejriwal government today announced a task force to lift the waste and deployed PWD workers to do the job. The AAP, which runs the government, and the BJP, which heads the civic bodies on strike, continued to blame each for the crisis.

This is the fifth day of the strike by sanitation workers. "If need be all AAP MLAs and cabinet ministers will pick up brooms and take to the streets to clean up the garbage," Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra told NDTV. PWD workers are now cleaning up the city, he said."
