The beauty of English language i found out is in the way, Word in VERB form can also function as NOUN form, without any additional letter/s.

In all the 8 sentences even if we omit the word 'only' the meaning would be same.
For example when I say I hit him in the eye yesterday, it implies that
1. no one except I hit him in the eye yesterday
Similarly the meanings conveyed by all the other seven sentences would follow.
