While one could not forget the personal bonding between Modi & Obama (bromance), the 3 bear hugs between Modi & Trump was bereft of warmth! Not sure about the takeaways!

Donald Trump and Narendra Modi seal successful meeting with a hug

26 June 2017 • 9:49pm Donald Trump welcomed Narendra Modi to the White House on Monday afternoon, and praised him for being "such a great prime minister" of India.
The US president declared that ties between Washington and New Delhi had "never been stronger" - and the pair sealed their bond with not one, but three hugs.

"The relationship between India and the United States has never been stronger, never been better," Mr Trump said.

"I am thrilled to salute you, Prime Minister Modi, and the Indian people for all you are accomplishing together.
"Your accomplishments have been vast. India has the fastest-growing economy in the world. We hope we'll be catching you very soon in terms of percentage increase - I have to tell you, we're working on it!"

Mr Modi said the two leaders had agreed to enhance cooperation in fighting terrorism - and that he had invited Mr Trump to visit India.
"We want to take our strategic partnership to new heights," Mr Modi said.
Mr Trump said both the US and India had been affected by the "evils of terrorism" and the "radical ideology that drives them."
"We will destroy radical Islamic terrorism," he said.
Both before and after the press conference, Mr Modi gave Mr Trump a trade mark hug. The two leaders hugged for a third time as Mr Trump bid Mr Modi farewell later that evening.

For every border violation by Pakistan, India should fire two misiles loaded with tonnes of explosives into pakistan targeting the military formations or civilian settlements in the border. We are dealing with a rowdy and the name is Pakistan. A no holds barred counter strike for every provocation is the best way to deal with that country.

Only and only then US will respect India.

Till then we will have to be satisfied with just goodwill and hugs and diplomatic niceties.

I agree with post#2 to an extent.
India has to deal with Pakistan, with little more determination.
Now that the US may not support Pakistan actively, India must take advantage. The only possible side effect is that the China conflict may escalate.
