On amavasai days after amavasai tharpanam you may draw kolam; on srardha days after srardha is over you may draw kolam and then do nithya pooja; grahanam will come at any time; There is a faith that daily each ones kula deivam and pithrus are coming to the houses just before sun rise aand cow dung water must be sprinkled and kolum must be drawn in the main entarance. lunar eclipse will come only at night or early in the morning there is no problem ; after solar eclipse tharpanam if it comes early in the morning you can draw kolam; if solar eclipse tharpanam comes in the noon or evening you have to draw kolam early in the morning asa usual and need not bother about kolam on that day ; you may finish your daily pooja in the morning itself as grahana tharpanam is going under the head neimithika tharpanam;
