YES!!!!

Desires are born intellect out of influences of Gene qualities/characteristics. Soul is devoid of influences of Genes. That's how one can strive to go against genetic qualities and attempt towards refining one self.
 
When a person has a true or profound desire towards a good deed or act
in life with complete faith, there is no cause to doubt about that when he
is confident of success.
