Dear Members,

What is the custom followed if there is a death in a family and marriage to be performed.
I understand the rule of arranging a marriage of a daughter with in a year and Son after the year of their parents death.
Does the same rule holds for other family members if there is a death of paternal uncle, uncle's wife and others.

Thanks in Advance for your feedback.

Thanks,
Harsha

In normal course any death in a family gives sorrow. But a persons death after 65 years is known as kalyana savu. If that person belongs to the blood relation like fathers brother ( any relation in father side) will be adopted atleast a year

where any death in mother side is only for 13 days. because mother side gothra is different than father side

The same rule does not apply in other instances. However, if you have spare time, you
may write to "[email protected]", which is headed by Nannilam Brahmasri
Vai. Rajagopala Ganapadigal will be able to give you a detailed answer to all your queries.
They have a website too. Vaithikasri. This is for your info. pl.
